Community Garden

The PTSA contributes funds to support the purchase of seeds and other garden-related materials needed for the school’s community garden. The garden is not just made up of garden beds but also includes a composting system, off grid solar system, rain collection system, solar water heating, and a chicken pen. Students from many classes use the garden regularly. 

Efforts include:

• Creating an experimental hugelkultur bed

• Installing hoops over the raised beds

• Potting up some perennials

• Installing ceramic towers

• Making a salad with greens and garlic just harvested

• Cooking with the harvest
